Objectives

  • The objective of this course is to prepare persons to take the licensure exam for the Residential Classification of the North Carolina General Contractor's License.  This license exam is administered by the North Carolina Licensing Board of General Contractors.
  • Persons completing this course will have a general understanding of the NC Residential Building code and will be able to demonstrate their competency with the code by locating code provision and providing an interpretation as to the application of the code in the building industry.
  • Persons completing this course will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of standard construction industry practices, the application and use of construction materials and the appropriate use thereof.
  • Persons completing this course will have a working knowledge of the home-building process including the business considerations that are a part of the construction of every home.
