Viennese Desserts

Description

Southern Germany and its neighboring Austria serve many of the same Viennese pastries. Join our Charlotte Cooks pastry instructor for a fun hands-on class in our transformed Konditorei (German pastry shop).  Your day will be spent baking popular desserts such as: Linzertorte, Kirschtorte (Black Forest Cherry Cake), Streuselkuchen (Apple Streusel Cake) and more popular Viennese desserts.

Objectives

The student will learn how to prepare Viennese tarts, tortes, cakes, cookies and bavarian cream.

Content

 

  1. Ingredients: apples, raspberries, apricot, cherries, raisins, plums and strawberries.
  2. Other staple ingredients include: honey, almond paste, cocoa, chocolate and sweet doughs.
  3. Recipes to include:

    • Almond Crescent Cookies
    • Bienenstich Cake
    • Streuselkuchen
    • Bavarian Fruit Tart
