Learn to Use Your Own Sewing Machine

Description

Do you have a sewing machine with many great features but find you're limited to  just a couple simple functions because it's overwhelming to learn to use? Bring it to this class and learn to comfortably operate and maintain your machine! Understand the importance of the manual and learn to use various feet, stitches and fabric as you complete a small project. Class size is very limited to allow personal attention from our experienced instructor. Note: Specialty machines (sergers, overlock, etc.) are NOT covered in this class).

 

Objectives

Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • Use sewing machine
  • Maintain sewing machine
  • Know different stitches and their use
  • Know how to use presser feet
  • Know where to find information on further sewing needs

 

Content

Students will learn:

  • How to thread their own machine and bobbin
  • Use of various stitches on their machine
  • How to use presser feet
  • Needles use and care
  • Sewing techniques, curves, pivoting
  • How to wisely choose a pattern suitable for a beginner
  • Understand different types of fabric and how they interface with the machine
