Get Tough! Self Defense Tips and Techniques for Women


In this expanded, reality-based self defense class, women will learn and practice easy-to-apply ways to defend themselves with essential, close quarter combat techniques and strategies. Our expert instructor will show you how to use your body and surroundings as weapons to increase your personal safety.  Each class will reinforce lessons from the previous class so your actions become automatic if you ever face a threatening situation


  • Escape from front and rear grabs, holds and chokes
  • Defend against common punches, slaps by using your natural weapons: elbows, knees, hands and feet
  • Identify potential predators and dangerous situations


  1. Stop attacks using elbows, knees, hands and feet
    • Controls, joint manipulations and locks 
  2. Use leverage to gain control against larger opponents
    • Defend against bear hugs, front chokes, head locks and common grabs 
  3. Control emotion and reaction under stress
    • Identify key target areas on the human body 
  4. Use learned techniques to role play in simulated attacks
