College Website (Content Management System)

Web publishing for departments, programs and special events is provided to the college via the content management system.  This system provides full online editing and publishing capabilities for CPCC websites, such as www.cpcc.edu.  Website content on the cpcc.edu domain is managed by local content owners in accordance with CPCC standards.

Features

The college CMS includes a number of features available to all web publishers.  Some of these features include:

  • Online What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWIG) editing
  • Image and file uploading / management Video embedding and content tagging
  • Traffic reporting for departmental websites

Creating a new site

To request creation of a new CPCC site, you will need to provide the following information in an email to the ITS Help Desk:

  • Administrative Sponsor:
  • Marketing Representative:
  • Web Publisher/Editor:
  • Title:
  • Description:

Requesting editing rights to an existing site

To request editing rights to an existing site, you will need to provide the following information to the ITS Help Desk:

  • URL of existing site
  • ITS highly recommends completion of LearnerWeb course Web Ambassador Training on the Content Management System (TT-WPT-102).  Completion of this training will allow you to understand how to update your web site with few problems.

After we gain approval for your request from the Content Owner, we will provide you access to edit the requested site.

Support for Content Management System is primarily provided by the Help Desk. There are certain requests that the Help Desk will escalate to Administrators for further analysis. The Services provided to the client by the Help Desk include, but are not limited to:

  • Limited assistance editing content on a webpage*
  • Elaboration on errors notifications as well as addressing any errors occurred
  • General support issues encountered

*As part of the requirement for access provision to the Content Management System (CMS) the client is recommended to go through training. At this time, we recommend that clients who require in depth training on “How to” functions on the CMS to revisit the training on LearnerWeb.

During these hours of operation, the Help Desk will respond to any phone calls. However, during busy times, or if a client chooses to leave a voicemail, the Help Desk will return the call to the client within 2 Hours. This is the same for any emails sent to the Help Desk.

Upon receipt of your report we will create a record in our tracking system and a tracking number will be provided, either over the phone or via automated email response, that you may use to identify this issue in any subsequent communications.
